הקדמה לתלמוד עשר הספירות

בריש מלים

 

beginning words

מצאתי לי צורך גדול לפוצץ מחיצת ברזל

I felt a great need to demolish an iron barrier

המצויה ומפסקת בינינו לבין חכמת הקבלה

That exists between us and the wisdom of the Kabbalah

מעת חורבן הבית ואילך 

Since the time of the Temple

עד דורנו זה

Until our generation

שהכבידה עלינו במדה חמורה מאד

Which has been a heavy burden on us

ומעוררת פחד שלא תשתכח ח'ו מישראל

And this provokes a fear that we should forget the sages of Israel.
